My research on teens and Twitter

I did some research with teens and Twitter this weekend. I liked it so much, I thought I’d publish it.

17-year old: “I don’t use Twitter. I don’t even know what it is!”.

Please note, this research was undertaken without appropriate referencing or statistical analysis.

Trying out Brizzly web client for Twitter

Untitled

Not a big fan of the font and all the spacing, but handily shows in-line media (video, images) and treats DMs like pop-up IM messages (though these can be ignored). It also includes an explanation of trends (editorial source unknown) and links auto-expand. Drafts can be saved of any tweet or reply.

Excitingly, you can ‘mute’ a user so if there is someone rather chatty on your Twitter feed (ahem), they can be temporarily hidden, in the same way that Facebook offers you the option to hide users in a stream.

Only used it for about five minutes, mind! Possible replacement for my usual http://itweet.net though.

Update: it doesn't auto-refresh and tracking back conversations isn't quite as nice as iTweet. I think that needs to happen.

we promise we won’t put our prices up!

They pulled their blog after I left a comment questioning this promise.

MediaCity UK to be built from London's discarded Post-It notes, populated by strange wind-up gizmos and feature unique hot-air balloon rapid transit system.

I watched it without sound. Spot the guest apperance by the Twitter birds and the fail whale who has a new job.
